Scrabbled

First post for 2010. Whee. What shenanigans did you get up to over the break? I played it low key with some dirty Scrabble: we cheated, we collaborated, and we dropped a lot of dirty words:

NYE Dirty Scrabble (31/12/2009)

Scrabble is turning into a NYE tradition for me; I’m thinking of testing out Strip Scrabble for the next one and am in the process of laying down some rules. Rule No. 1: if you spell out an item of clothing, other players must remove said item of clothing. My Scrabble rules are a bit rusty, however, so I’m asking for online contributions. Feeling inventive? Write up a Strip Scrabble rule in the comments section of this post before the end of this month. The person with the best Strip Scrabble rule scores a free copy of Small Room Issue One.

  1. 2) If you spell a long word (6 or 7 letters) others must remove a large item of clothing, if you spell a short word (two) they remove a small item.

    3) If you give up on your letters and swap them for new ones you must take off your underwear.

  2. Welcome back! What a great idea! No ideas to contribute, unfortunately — I am absolutely useless at any kind of board game and so have become skilled at avoiding them 🙂

  3. Rules of Scrabble are available at http://www.scrabble.org.au

Strip – remove an item of clothing as penalty for playing a wrong word

Remove an item of clothing if you take more than 1 or 2 minutes to make a move.

Remove an item of clothing anytime because you can??

  4. I had muchos fun reading these rules. I loved Anne’s ‘Remove an item of clothing anytime because you can’, but I think Laura’s ‘If you give up your letters and swap them for new ones you must take off your underwear’ wins hands down (or underwear down). So Laura, you are now the proud owner of a Small Room poster magazine. Yay.
